With the weekend upcoming, there is plenty to do to keep busy.

Here is what's going on in the Foothills this weekend:

Friday, April 11:

The Town of Okotoks hosts Nature Fridays events, and at this week's event, they are teaching about pollinators and how bees and butterflies help plants grow and grow the ecosystem.

At Okotoks Cinemas, they will be playing the Minecraft movie all weekend, but they are asking people to not throw drinks and snacks during the chicken jockey scene.

As always, it's Youth Night at the Okotoks Rec Centre from 6 to 10 p.m., and youth aged 12 to 18 are able to have a free night of fun.

Over in High River, the Loose Moose Improv Theatre will be performing at the Highwood Center, with the performance beginning at 7 p.m.

The High River Gift of Music is getting Charlotte Giraudeau and Sofia Fakeley to perform, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

High River's Chase Morgan will be performing at the Mucky Duck, with him hitting the stage at 7 p.m.

Saturday, April 12:

It's Record Store Day across Canada, which promotes music and record sales. Tipper Records in Okotoks is open all day.

At the Okotoks Art Gallery, not only are there exhibits for everyone to enjoy, but there will be Pysanka workshops as well. There will be one beginning at 11 a.m., and another at 1:30 p.m.

At the Okotoks Public Library, they will be hosting the Teen Art Club for youth aged 13 to 17, and they will learn new art techniques, mediums, and styles. The Art Club runs from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Not only is the Okotoks Public Library hosting the Art Club, but there will also be story time with a Royal Canadian Navy Sailor, who will share tales of the seas. Storytime begins at 1:30 p.m.

The Minecraft movie can be seen at the Okotoks Cinemas.

As always, the Okotoks Elks Club is hosting meat draws and a perogy lunch at noon. Kids are welcome to attend.

The Sheep River parkrun happens every Saturday morning at the Sheep River Park, beginning at 9 a.m., and people are able to run, walk, or volunteer.

In High River, there will be afternoon Bingo, beginning at 3 p.m. at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex Curling Lounge. It costs $2 per person, and it's all ages.

At the High River United Church, there is the Art to Songs Art Show and Concert. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for an art viewing, and the concert will begin at 7 p.m.

The High River Library is hosting the Famous 5 exhibit as part of the 'Trailblazers Tour' across Alberta. There will be a Pink Tea celebration, beginning at 1 p.m.

Sunday, April 13:

The Minecraft movie will be played at the Okotoks Cinemas

There are drop-in activities to be enjoyed at the Okotoks Rec Centre, but the sauna is currently closed for repairs.
