A local healthcare manufacturing company is gearing up for continued growth, hosting a Hiring Event on Saturday, May 3rd from 9:00am until noon (400 Route 100, Morden, MB R6M1Z9). Apply now.

Solventum (formerly 3M Health Care) has been designing and manufacturing medical products for the global market for over 40 years. Now, because the Morden site has demonstrated such strong performance in quality, safety, and service, a lot of new business is rolling in. And with all that new business, a search for new crew members has begun.

Jason Clyde, Plant Manager at Solventum in Morden, says that right now they’re looking to fill production, maintenance and engineering roles, with more positions in both production and non-production coming up in the future as well.

“Our plant is experiencing a lot of growth,” reveals Clyde. “So there will be many opportunities for advancement in support roles like Shift Leads, Supervisors, or other project leading roles.

“The people here are great to work with. They’ve made this plant successful over the years. And no wonder – we offer competitive pay, shift differentials, paid vacation time off, and benefits begin on day one.”

In addition to the company’s everyday offered benefits like medical, dental, and vision, their benefit package also includes an Employee Assistance Program, Teledoc, a retirement package, sick days, and tuition reimbursement for job-related professional development.

Solventum also has a strong safety culture, where everyone enjoys working in a temperature-controlled environment. It’s this kind of environment that makes people want to stay with the company for the long run.

“We have a lot of long-term employees who have known each other for many years,” states Clyde. “So we have open communication which results in great teamwork and camaraderie.”

J.R. Adams, one of Solventum’s long-term employees, has been an operator in the plant for over 22 years. He says that he is very proud to work at Solventum, manufacturing medical devices that are used around the world.

“The work is focus driven, so your mind stays sharp. Common sense and rational thinking, strong work ethic, and reliability drives this work force. At Solventum, you get the chance to move forward in whatever direction you need. It’s an inclusive workplace – anyone can work here. Our working environment is clean and safe. And the people are the best! When a problem occurs, all opinions are listened to – from the engineer who built it, to the operators running it.”

Solventum is highly automated, operating 24 hours a day, five days a week, with a 3-shift weekly rotation of days, evenings, and nights. Production crews work 8-hour shifts with two paid 20-minute breaks. Some lines have crews of two or three people who monitor the machine to ensure it’s producing a high-quality product. And a maintenance team is on every shift to support and assist production workers.

Not only does Solventum provide many people in the community with meaningful careers, they also give back to the community in numerous ways.

“We contributed to the local Learn and Return bursary to support local nurses. We provide an annual scholarship for a high school graduate going into sciences. We participate in Boundary Trails fundraisers for our local hospital, and the Jimmy Classic golf tournament that supports STARS and local Fire and Rescue. Last year we donated to help Morden Middle School raise funds for new playground equipment. And every Christmas, our plant has a food drive to support those in need.”

Clyde adds that the company is committed to building a healthier, more sustainable future for everyone, recently announcing its commitment to using 100% renewable energy by 2030.

It's clear that People First isn’t just a slogan for Solventum – it’s truly a core value.

Solventum has a demonstrated history of developing and filling roles from within the plant, so while various entry level positions are available right now, getting your foot in the door today will work to your advantage when new opportunities become available. And while manufacturing experience is an asset, it’s not required, as Solventum offers on-the-job training for production roles, and a global team to support those in technical roles.

So be sure to mark your calendar for Solventum’s hiring event on Saturday, May 3rd from 9:00 AM until noon at Solventum, 400 Route 100, Morden, MB R6M1Z9.
