On Tuesday, April 29, groups of students, teachers, and emergency personnel joined forces to participate in Wadena and District Search and Rescue’s (WASDAR) Walk to Remember.
The event included a presentation by the local search and rescue organization that guided young outdoor enthusiasts from the Wadena Elementary School as what to do if they find themselves lost. Students were presented with kits that included safety materials such as a reflective blanket and a whistle.
Students paraded down main street with photos of people who have gone missing and have yet to be found. Thanks went out to the local RCMP detachment and fire department for their participation.
