What’s half DJ jam and half cutthroat community competition? It’s the LeRoy Holy Rosary Parish Spring Singo Bingo happening on Friday May 2 at the LeRoy School Gym.
For the uninitiated, musical bingo relies on the players knowledge of classic music cuts across decades and styles.
“Our bingo cards have a variety of song titles on them,” explains Elaine Cales with the Parish. “Then they’ll play a song, and if you know the name of the song and it’s on your card, you can dab your card.”
There’s a wide range of tunes that will make an appearance that evening, Cales says.
“One of the sets of bingos is going to be 60s, 70s and 80s, and other set is going to be country and western. Another is going to be Rock & Roll.”
There are some beautiful prizes to be had throughout the evening, all building to the blackout game at the end. There is also a raffle table with 30 or so great prizes waiting to be awarded.
Doors to the event at the LeRoy School Gym open at 6:30 pm with the first game called at 7:30. Groups are welcome to phone ahead and book a table. All proceeds go to the operation and maintenance of the Holy Rosary Church in LeRoy.
