Excitement is building as a Winnipeg church prepares to host six powerful nights of worship.

Fire Nights, hosted by Rose Church, will start Sunday evening and run each night until next Friday.

"A while back, our pastors had this conviction that it was either revival or die," said David Steeves, Next Gen pastor at Rose Church. "It sounds intense, but it's like we want to believe for a move of God in this city that could just flip it upside down, where we see miracles happen. Prodigals come home. People just on fire for Jesus."

Steeves says a revival like this is more important now than ever.

"I feel like we can discern, you know, the spiritual climate in the city and our nation, and we know people are searching for belonging. For true hope," said Steeves. "We want to see the broken healed, and there is a, you know, there is a lot of that now, and so we're passionate about folks. We know that this could be something big."

The worship nights will happen each evening at 7:30 p.m. with speakers from across Canada and the U.S.

Steeves says he is excited to see God move, especially in the younger generations.

"I'm a little excited for it," said Steeves. "There are people and kids here who believe that God will move so much that it could affect the friends that they bring. And so I'm excited for that."

Fire Nights run from May 4 to 9 at Rose Chuch at 630 Kernaghan Ave.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with worship starting at 7:30 p.m.
