The music is flowing out of The Community Exchange (TCE) building in Altona these days, their concert series shows have seen great success and now, you're invited to another free evening of music at TCE, tonight (May 5th)!

Jon Bryant

Jon Bryant is a Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for his introspective lyrics and genre-blending sound that fuses indie folk, alternative rock, and psychedelic pop. Born on January 22, 1986, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Bryant was immersed in music from an early age, influenced by his gospel-singing mother. He began playing piano at age five and picked up the guitar at thirteen. After high school, he pursued music earnestly, performing at various venues and open mics across Canada. Bryant's music continues to resonate with audiences worldwide, offering a blend of heartfelt storytelling and melodic innovation that invites listeners to explore the complexities of life and love.

Paul Peters, the Executive Director at The Community Exchange had this to say about the headliner Jon Bryant, "So John Bryant, he's a singer-songwriter from the East Coast, now living in BC and he's in the middle of one of his biggest tours across Canada. We had him out in Altona, I want to say like 7 years ago he came out and did a little concert and we just really like his stuff. It's a really homey vibe, it's chill singer-songwriter and so, knowing he was in Winnipeg, we're like, why don't we bring him out?"

Pay what you can

Paul Peters shared the details on the cost to attend the evening, "The concert admission is pay what you can, it's a fundraising concert but we're trying to use language to encourage anyone to come out. We don't want to close the doors to anyone. Try to break down some barriers, so it's pay what you can. If it's 25 cents, you're welcome, if today you can't pay anything, you're still welcome, if it's $100, bring it on in!"

The funds raised from tonight's concert will go into the general operating fund for The Community Exchange.
