Air 106.1 FM will live from the McDonald’s on Edmonton Trail today to celebrate McHappy Day — a national one-day event where every coffee, burger, fry or Happy Meal supports children and families across Canada.
📍 104 Edmonton Trail NE, Airdrie
📻 Air 106.1 FM Live on Location
🕚 Thursday, May 8 | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
According to McDonald’s Canada, “McHappy Day is a one-day fundraiser organized by McDonald's Canada and its independent franchisees where a portion of proceeds from all food and beverage menu items go to RMHC and other local children’s charities.”
That means every order placed today — in-restaurant, at the Drive-Thru, via the McDonald’s app or through McDelivery platforms like DoorDash, SkipTheDishes and UberEats — helps fund accommodations, meals, mental health and wellness supports for families with sick or injured children.
“Doing good just got tastier. All day on May 8, $0 delivery fee* will be offered on all McDelivery orders across Canada,” the company said in the same release.
RMHC Alberta, which operates Ronald McDonald Houses in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Medicine Hat, supported nearly 300 communities last year — including local families. The Calgary House is currently expanding from 30 to 94 bedrooms, with construction scheduled for completion in 2025.
Guests can also:
-
Round Up their order total at the kiosk, drive-thru or counter to donate the difference
-
Purchase McHappy Day socks for $6 plus tax, available in four McDonaldland character designs
-
Donate $2, $5 or $10 in exchange for a McHappy Day Heart
The company notes that “100% of funds raised through Round Up supports RMHC across Canada and the overall wellbeing of families with sick or injured children from more than 2,600 communities in Canada.”
“Participating in McHappy Day is not just deliciously easy; it allows you to feel good about making a difference in the lives of families with sick or injured children,” McDonald’s stated.
McHappy Day has raised over $100 million across Canada to date, helping RMHC serve nearly half a million families since the first campaign launched.
