A powerful four-song video from Sanctus Real’s full-length concert at an Ohio prison is now available to the public, offering a glimpse into a special performance that brought hope and healing to hundreds of inmates.

The GRAMMY-nominated, Dove Award-winning Christian rock band performed at Grafton Correctional Facility on Oct. 1, 2024, as part of a partnership with the nonprofit Send Musicians to Prison. While the full concert was recorded and shared directly with incarcerated individuals, this newly released video marks the first time part of the event is being made available to the broader public.

The video—available now on YouTube—features four songs from the performance, with other content such as speaking segments and additional music omitted to preserve the privacy of those in attendance.

'Deeply meaningful' experience

Sanctus Real’s founding guitarist, Chris Rohman, said the performance was deeply meaningful.

“It’s been a long time since I felt such a purpose and conviction in sharing these songs of hope with an audience,” he said, later describing the moment as one where “God was breaking down spiritual walls.”

The performance was part of Send Musicians to Prison’s ongoing work bringing live and pre-recorded music to correctional facilities across the U.S. Each month, the organization reaches more than 200,000 inmates with content focused on healing and restoration through music.

Formed in Toledo, Ohio, Sanctus Real has released 10 studio albums and earned a reputation for authentic, hope-filled songwriting. Their best-known tracks include “Confidence,” “Lead Me,” and “Forgiven,” with over 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone.

Though not included in the public video, the band also performed its newest single, “The Difference,” during the Grafton concert. The track is set to impact Christian radio on June 18 and has been described by Worship Leader Magazine as “a bold anthem of hope and transformation in Christ.”

Sanctus Real has made resources for the song available to churches through CCLI and LoopCommunity, with Rohman offering a guitar tutorial via social media.
