It wasn't long ago the City of Moose Jaw came up with a campaign called "Get a Life". The focus, the goal, is to attract more people to the city, not as tourists, but as residents.

The campaign has won numerous marketing awards and, if real estate stats are an indication, it appears it's working!

Moose Jaw’s real estate market had another strong showing in April with sales 14 per cent above the 10-year average.

Cole Zawislak from the Saskatchewan Realtors Association tells us Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto real estate markets are down and Saskatchewan and Moose Jaw are outperforming many markets across the country.

However, we've also learned that limited inventory combined with high demand has led to steady growth of housing prices with the residential benchmark price increasing from $253,000 to $271,000 - an 11% increase year-over-year in Moose Jaw.

So, getting a life in Moose Jaw and Saskatchewan has quickly become more expensive.

I'm not so sure we want that, do we?
