Epcot’s American Gardens Theatre at Disney World was recently transformed from a theme park to a place of praise and worship.
Thousands of people gathered around the stage in the middle of a storm to hear a concert put on by Maverick City Music.
Although there were multiple delays due to lightning, the crowd stayed strong and the band continued to sing.
With arms raised in the air, the crowd sang at the top of their lungs, praising God in the middle of Disney World.
"How amazing it was to worship the Lord at Epcot tonight with Maverick City Music," said Nicole Danielle on Facebook. "I’ve been to other Christian concerts here, but this one felt different. Real, uninhibited praise and worship."
"What began as a rainy day at Epcot turned into an unforgettable night of worship with Maverick City Music," said Mary Cisco. "The skies may have opened with rain, but so did our hearts, wide open to the presence of God.
She said thousands of believers stood together, hands raised, voices lifted, and eyes filled with tears.
"The Holy Spirit moved mightily, proving that God can show up anywhere, anytime, even in the middle of Walt Disney World. It wasn’t just a concert. It was a full-on encounter. A night to remember. The heavens were rejoicing, and so were we!! What a SAVIOUR!! Forever grateful."
For 35 years, Disney hosted Night of Joy, an annual contemporary Christian Festival typically held in September. It was cancelled in 2018 and replaced with a mainstream Eat to Beat concert series.
Since then, Disney has continued to welcome Christian artists, including Tauren Wells and MercyMe. However, the event on Monday was unlike anything that has been experienced since the Night of Joy.
