Canadian Tire Moose Jaw is preparing for its fourth annual golf classic, set for Tuesday, June 17, with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. at the Hillcrest Golf Course.
Ross Leckie, owner of Canadian Tire Moose Jaw, says, “The golf tournament should be a little bit bigger and better than last year. We had a lot of fun last year and people enjoyed the event.”
It’s expected to be a full day of fun. Along with the tournament, participants can look forward to dinner and a silent auction. Proceeds from the event support Jumpstart, helping local kids access sports and recreational activities. Last year’s event raised $65,000 for Jumpstart.
Leckie says Jumpstart helps families in several ways.
“We help supply equipment or registration fees for the person to get into the event, so different things happen. We've rented different things for different people to help get their children into the activity they want to do.”
Those interested in playing can register a team at Canadian Tire in Moose Jaw or online at www.canadiantiremjgolfclassic.ca. Volunteers are also welcome and can sign up through the website.
Ross Leckie, along with Canadian Tire employee Krystal Chow, joined Country 100’s Courtney Fielder in studio to talk all about the big day:
