New Ownership, Same Trusted Service

Kee Sheet Metal is kicking off summer with a grand opening barbecue event on June 10, inviting the community to stop by, grab a free lunch, and meet the team behind the long-standing Kindersley business. Under new ownership by Kyle Strutt, the celebration is both a thank-you to customers and a fresh chapter for the 70-year-old company.

Firing Up the Grill and the Deals

"We're going to have a free barbecue right here at Kee Sheet Metal," says Strutt. "It’s our way of saying thanks and welcoming everyone to check out what we've got going on."

In addition to burgers and smokies, attendees can take advantage of great deals on barbecues, including Weber models, griddles, and pellet grills. "We're also clearing out some older inventory – shower doors, water pumps, and more. It’s a great time to come by," adds Strutt.

From Apprentice to Owner

Strutt’s journey with Kee Sheet Metal began more than a decade ago as a plumber. After working at Kee for over six years, he eventually launched his own venture, Performance Plumbing. When the opportunity arose to take over Kee Sheet Metal, it felt like a natural fit.

"I knew most of the staff already – they're great people," he says. "The fact that they're still here seven years after I left says a lot about the company."

Expanding Services, Honouring Legacy

Today, Kee Sheet Metal continues to offer full plumbing and HVAC services, including installation and maintenance of furnaces, air conditioners, water heaters, sewer and irrigation pumps, and indoor air quality products. Serving a broad area within an hour of Kindersley, the business carries trusted brands like Lennox and DAB.

"We’re a service-based company, so helping customers is at the heart of what we do," Strutt says. "Nobody wants their furnace to go out or run out of hot water, but when it happens, we’re here to fix it."
Investing in People and the Future

Since taking over, Strutt has already expanded the team and continues to look for dedicated local apprentices. "You can’t always hire a journeyman – you have to create them," he explains. "We're always trying to grow the team with people who care about customer service."

The business also has a strong family foundation. Strutt's wife, Amber, a CPA, supports the business behind the scenes, handling financial planning and operations. "It wouldn’t be possible without her. We're a good team.”

Kee Sheet Metal's grand opening barbecue on June 10 is an open invitation to the community. "It’s part grand opening, part customer appreciation," says Strutt. "Come by, grab a burger, meet the team, and maybe find a great deal. We’re proud to be here and excited for what’s ahead."
