It's Throwback Thursday - just a minute to remember the good old days.

I'm thinking of an old childhood friend today. It's his birthday. Why I remember, how I remember that I don't know. We haven't really stayed in touch. We've exchanged an email or two over the years, but I haven't seen him for about 30.

Funny, though, I can still tell you the telephone number I'd call to talk to him when we were in grade 3 in 1973.

In fact, I can recite the landline telephone numbers for a number of my old pals from elementary school.

I can tell you stories about the games we played, the laughs we had, the adventures we went on and the trouble we got into from time to time.

I can remember the names of the baseball and hockey teams we played for, the names of all of their parents and the teachers who taught us in school.

But you know what? I don't know anyone's phone numbers anymore. In fact, there have been times recently when someone asks me what my number is and I have to stop and think about it.

Times have changed and here we are...just trying to keep up.
