The following is the RCMP report to June 2, 2025. This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.
- 47 traffic violations
- 19 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)
- 17 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)
- 16 crimes against property
- 21 other criminal code
- 8 crimes against person
- 9 traffic accidents
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks. RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks. You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check.
Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.
Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.
Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.
YOUTH CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS
Criminal record checks cannot be done on youth unless working in Government. It has been established that non-provincially or municipally run summer camps and pools, public/private schools including colleges/universities are not government employers.

Police responded to a call for police assistance in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. The matter is under investigation.
Police received a report of a fire in the RM of Argyle. Police attended however the fire had been suppressed upon arrival and members were no longer needed.
Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Police located the vehicle and spoke with the owner who was working nearby. The matter was concluded.
Police responded to a call for a fire in the RM of Prairie Lakes. A male was arrested and charged with arson and remanded into custody.
Police received a report of disturbing the peace in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Police followed up with the complainant and were no longer required as the person had left on their own.
Police received a report of theft in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a coyote in Boissevain. Turtle Mountain Conservation was contacted and the matter was concluded.

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Belmont.
Police received a report of theft in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Belmont. Members followed up with the complainant and were advised police were no longer required.

May 15, 2025
Police responded to a call for a house fire in Belmont. There were no injuries and the fire was deemed not suspicious. Fire department was on scene therefor police departed.

Police received a report of an assault in Killarney. Police followed up with all parties involved and the matter was unfounded.
Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Belmont. Police followed up with the complainant and determined they were no longer needed.
May 16, 2025
Police responded to a call for disturbing the peace in Deloraine. Police patrolled the area however the suspect was gone on arrival.
Police responded to a call for police assistance at Border Services in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. A male was believed to be intoxicated attempting to cross the border. A roadside screening device was issued which resulted in a warning. An immediate roadside suspension was given to the driver prohibiting driving for 3 days and the vehicle was towed.
Police received a report of a breach of peace in Waskada. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in Hartney. The vehicle was located and towed.

Police received a report of uttering threats in Deloraine. Police followed up with the complainant and determined no actual threats were made and the matter was unfounded.
Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. Police followed up with both parties involved and the matter was unfounded.

Police responded to a call for a wellbeing check in Killarney. Upon arrival, EMS was already on scene and a female was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Boissevain. Police patrolled the area however no disturbance was located.

Police received a report of mischief in Waskada. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of theft in Killarney. The complainant did not want to proceed with charges.
Police received a report of a possible impaired driver in Killarney. Police patrolled the area, located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. A roadside screening device was issued which resulted in a warning. An immediate roadside suspension was given to the driver prohibiting driving for 3 days and the vehicle was towed.
May 24, 2025
Police received a report of theft of vehicle in Hartney. Police patrolled the area however the vehicle was not located. Police followed up with the complainant and determined the vehicle had been returned.
Police responded to a call for a possible impaired driver in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Turtle Mountain Conservation had detained the driver until police arrived. A roadside screening device was administered which resulted in 2 failed readings. An immediate roadside suspension was given to the driver prohibiting driving for 90 days and the vehicle was towed.

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in Goodlands. The vehicle was not registered and was towed.
Police received a report of a missing person in Killarney. The person was located safe.
Police received a report of an erratic driver in Boissevain. Police patrolled the area however the vehicle was gone on arrival.

Police received a report of harassment in Waskada. Police followed up with both parties involved however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant who stated they were reporting for information purposes only. The matter was concluded.
Police received a report of driving while disqualified in Ninette. After further investigation it was determined the person in question had an active driver's license and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant who refused to provide a statement therefor the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of uttering threats in Hartney. Police followed up with the complainant and determined no threats had been made. The matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of theft in Hartney. A vehicle description was provided. Police patrolled the area however the vehicle was gone on arrival.
Police received a report of an unwanted person in a residence in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. Police attended and spoke with all parties. A male was arrested, lodged in cells and released once sober without charges.
May 30, 2025
Police responded to a call for an assault in Hartney. Both a male and female were arrested and released on undertakings to appear in court at a later date.
Police received a report of theft in Boissevain. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of failure to comply with an undertaking in Hartney. Police followed up with the complainant however the matter was unfounded.
While patrolling, police conducted a traffic stop in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. A female was charged for driving while disqualified and the vehicle was towed.
June 1, 2025
Police received a report of an intoxicated person in Boissevain. Police attended to assist. The male was transported home by a sober driver without charges.

Due to the many reports of vehicle thefts, the public is reminded to secure parked and unattended vehicles and refrain from leaving valuables in plain view.
