It's a busy weekend in the Foothills, and there will be fun for everyone to enjoy.

With temperatures forecasted to be in the mid-20s this weekend, let's take a look at what's happening in the community.

Friday, June 6:

At this week's Nature Fridays event held at the Environmental Education Centre in Okotoks, people will learn about Plant Pals from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The Okotoks Film Festival is happening from noon until 11 p.m. at the Okotoks Cinemas, starting with their Lunch Break Shorts package.

As part of Seniors Week, there is a jam session happening at the Okotoks District & Seniors Club from 7 to 9 p.m., where people can sing, dance, and play music.

As always, Friday nights are Youth Night at the Okotoks Rec Centre, where people aged 12 to 18 are able to enjoy the gymnasium and pool until 10 p.m. and the Youth Centre until 11 p.m. for free.

The 2025 Foothills Fury Classic is Western Canada's largest invitational female fastpitch tournament and will see over 1100 female players from U7 to U19 compete.

The Sylvan Lake Gulls are in town to take on the Okotoks Dawgs at Seaman Stadium, with the first pitch being tossed at 7:05 p.m.

Saturday, June 7:

In High River, the 6th Annual Parade of Garage Sales begins at 9 a.m., same goes for the High River Parade of Garage Sales at the High River Senior Centre.

In the Sheep River Park in Okotoks, there is the Sheep River parkrun, starting at 9 a.m., where people can run, walk, or volunteer.

Over in Diamond Valley, the 57th Diamond Valley Parade and Festival is happening on the Black Diamond side. Starting at 8:30 a.m., the Oilfields High School basketball team is hosting a pancake breakfast before the parade starts at 10. In the Turner Valley side of town, the festival and market will begin at 11 a.m.

The 35th Annual Okotoks Rotary Club Soapbox Derby is happening on Crystal Ridge Drive, between Downey Road and North Railway Street, with practice runs beginning at 9 a.m. There will be over 100 kids competing to see who has the fastest cart.

The Okotoks Film Festival is happening from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Okotoks Cinemas.

Over at the Okotoks Art Gallery, they are hosting an Art on the Lawn event from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and people will be able to purchase artwork from local artists.

From noon to 4 p.m. at the Okotoks Rec Centre, there will be a Repair Café, where people can bring their items to get fixed.

Heel and Hoof Rescue is hosting their Spring Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 418113-16 St. West, to help raise money to care for the horses they rescued.

At the Okotoks Public Library, they are hosting a Teen Art Club for people aged 13 to 17 from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. They will explore new techniques, mediums, and styles every month.

The Okotoks Elks Club is hosting a meat draw and perogy lunch, with lunch being served at noon.

The Foothills Fury Classic is continuing all weekend.

The Okotoks Dawgs are taking on the Energy City Cactus Rats, with the first pitch happening at 7:05 p.m.

Sunday, June 8:

There will be a Pride Festival and Market happening from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m., with activities happening at the Ethel Tucker Centennial Park.

The Okotoks United Church is having its 100th Anniversary, and they are hosting a pancake breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m.

The Foothills Fury Classic is happening all weekend.
