Over 100 people came together on Thursday at Central Park in downtown Winnipeg for a Winnipeg for Jesus rally. People testify that it was a night of worship, revival, and healing with an evangelistic outreach also held earlier in the day.
Winnipeg for Jesus is a local evangelistic ministry that meets several times a week to go out and preach the gospel. Their mission is to share the gospel in Winnipeg and equip local Christians to do so. “We are a group of people who get together, who have a heart for the city, who want to go out and share the gospel,” said Danny, the co-director of Winnipeg for Jesus.
A worship group from Grand Rapids, Michigan, EveryHeart Movement, were present at the rally. They led worship, a time of prayer, and an altar call.
A tour member with the worship group, Spencer, said, “The EveryHeart Movement is a YWAM movement that was established in 2021. Our sole goal is to see people met and sent by the love of Jesus."
The worship group spends a number of weeks travelling over the summer to destinations in the United States, Canada, and Europe. They aim to minister to people that may never enter a church building and see them encounter the presence of God.
"We are here to see people set free from all sorts of things, the sin and brokenness in this world, and just really encounter Jesus", said Spencer.
Members of the group talked about feeling a special calling to visit Winnipeg and hold an outreach in the city.
“The Lord put Winnipeg on our hearts in September 2024. We felt this city was on the Lord’s heart and we felt the Lord’s favour on this city, " said Jaime, the team leader of EveryHeart Movement.
Throughout the day, team members of Winnipeg for Jesus and EveryHeart Movement shared testimonies of people experiencing the healing presence and power of God.
"We’ve seen miracles happen here this weekend, we’ve seen healing, we’ve seen numerous people give their life to Jesus this week," said Jeffrey. He continued, "There’s been people here who didn’t really feel hope and seeing them have a revelation of the love of Jesus," was exciting to him.
Leaders encouraged taking steps of faith and praying for the healing of the sick and the salvation of souls.
“If you see someone needing healing, just step out in faith, the Lord does the healing not us and we have the power to heal through the Holy Spirit, who does the healing," said Lucas, a tour member with EveryHeart Movement.
Thursday night was an impactful reminder of God's love, healing, and restorative power.
