Over 1000 people gathered on Sunday evening at Calvary Temple for the last Bread We Break session of the season.
Bread We Break, or BWB, as it's commonly referred to as, is a citywide, interdenominational worship night. It began in 2012 as an associate ministry of The Meeting Place. It has now expanded and has a separate ministry in Vancouver.
Sunday evening included a time of worship, prayer, communion, and fellowship, following the event's conclusion.
Through these bimonthly worship nights, BWB aims to "Lift high the name of Jesus in worship, remember Him constantly in communion, and unite His church in fellowship."
Their vision for the ministry is to "Journey together on common ground, discover the fullness of the Father, and grow in outpouring devotion."
The worship nights are targeted toward young adults, but they are open to attendees of all ages.
Some attendees on Sunday night were long-time attendees, well familiar with BWB events. Others were first-time and had open expectations.
Sarah, a first-time BWB attendee, said about the night, "I just got here, but already it seems so welcoming and fun."
Natasha, a well-seasoned attendee, said, "Bread We Break is pretty awesome. They have an amazing worship band, and it's so powerful, you can feel the Holy Spirit moving through them."
BWB seeks to create a place for people to grow in faith, unity, and commitment in Christ. The next gathering will take place in September as the group breaks for summer.
