A Christian instructor with Millar College of the Bible is taking notes from his students and pursuing his musical passion through a new hip-hop album.

"I have the title of registrar and instructor [with Millar College of the Bible]," says Nick Betzing. "I handle the ins and outs of student's proceeding to graduate. As an instructor, I teach various theology and Bible courses."

On top of teaching Biblical studies, Betzing is releasing a full-length album called The Dawn on June 21.

"I came to faith through Christian hip hop music," says Betzing. "It was a sermon clip within a Christian hip-hop song that led me to searching up various preachers."

While always enjoying the hip-hop and rap genre, Betzing got connected to Grammy-award winning Christian artist in Winnipeg, Fresh IE.

"He [Fresh IE] took me under his wing. I was part of his platform for a number of years, Kingdom Music. I went on a hiatus, got married, and finished up my education. Then, a couple of years ago, I started to dabble. I use music to more or less journal what I've been reflecting on in the Scriptures."

The Dawn has 15 tracks, and Betzing was able to get numerous other artists featured on it, including Scribe, his mentor, Fresh IE, and Aha Gazelle.

"I got local pastors, my pastor, a pastor from Steinbach, I use sermon clips within the hip-hop music. I believe it's important to platform the preached word. Fresh is a mentor, musically. Rob has a heart for ministry and people."
