Several events are going on in Strathmore this weekend.
1. Real Canadian Wrestling - Tag Wars
Real Canadian Wrestling (RCW) returns to the Strathmore Ag Grounds for their Tag Wars event on Friday (July 11)
According to local wrestler Steve Wilde, the show will feature a blend of tag team and singles matches.
"Tag teams are usually a lot quicker, with more action. All of our guys go in and put in 110 per cent, but we've had some interest and some inquiries that people really like seeing tag teams."
The matches run from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., with tickets available here.
2. Poetry Cafe at the Strathmore Municipal Library
The monthly Poetry Cafe takes place at the Strathmore Municipal Library on Friday.
Dozens of residents will make it out to the event to show off their poetry and connect with like-minded artists.
The Poetry Cafe was started by Strathmore resident Micheal Ajirireloja.
"It's something that a lot of people enjoy, not just people from Strathmore, but people from other towns as well who are available to come."
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with poetry readings beginning at 7 p.m. The event is free to attend.
3. Strathmore Farmers Market
Starting on Friday afternoon, dozens of local vendors will be at the Strathmore Farmers Market.
The market runs every Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and features a variety of goods, from accessories to food.
It's a special year for the market as they celebrate its 30th anniversary.
The market will run every week until Sept. 19.
