Rend Collective has released a new single called "Wild Love," giving an ode to Christian author C.S. Lewis's idea of God.

Lewis wrote the children's series The Chronicles of Narnia, with the first book titled The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. In it, Lewis depicts God as a lion named Aslan.

"Safe?" 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you," Rend Collective shared the snippet from the book on social media.

"Wild Love" is based on this idea and was released to the public on July 18, 2025.

"Having grown up a few minutes away from the birthplace of C.S. Lewis in Northern Ireland, the Narnia series has been in the background of my whole childhood, and this quote totally transformed my perspective on God," says the band on Instagram.

Lewis was born in Belfast in 1898. As a scholar, he's known for many of his fiction and non-fiction books, including the popular Narnia series, of which three of the seven books have been made into films. Greta Gerwig, the producer of Barbie, has taken the task of recreating a new version of the first two books for Netflix. There is no release date for these films yet.

"He’s not a tame lion. He won’t fit tidily into our categories. He’s reliable but not predictable. He’s not a domesticated religious pet that will do our bidding. He’s bigger and better than that. In other words, He’s a wild God whose love for us is equally wild."
