Grab your clubs and golf buddies — another tournament is on the schedule!
The Fore the Athletes Golf Classic is set to take place at the Hillcrest Golf Club on September 6. Register now for a day on the course featuring 18 holes, a meal and plenty of prizes.
Proceeds from the tournament support female community sports in Moose Jaw, specifically the Thunder Creek Volleyball Club and Mustangs Lacrosse.
“Our main goal is to create an opportunity for everyone,” said Haylee Bevan, a coach with the Thunder Creek Volleyball Club. “Club volleyball is very competitive, and you have to love the game in order to play a club sport, and we want to make sure that anyone who loves the game of volleyball has the opportunity to play, and that finances aren't a barrier for them.”
Moose Jaw Mustangs Lacrosse is looking to purchase more equipment for female players.
“[The Mustangs] would like to start hosting some female Mustangs winter camps as well,” Bevan said. “Their goal is to get and keep more local minor female athletes in the sport, and then this will hopefully provide opportunities to learn and develop while also keeping it affordable for families.”
