Offering automotive services that range from oil changes to large repairs, Airdrie Automotive and German Automotive are excited to invite their community to their upcoming Grand Opening!
Airdrie Automotive has been a local fixture for a number of years, and co-owner Rose Knibbe and her team are excited to take over the legacy that has been lovingly built by the previous owners.
“We are setting up a big family-friendly event with lots of activities for kids and families,” says Knibbe. “We have bouncy houses. We have games. We're going to have an ice cream truck and a barbecue with burgers and hot dogs. We are giving away a free set of tires for one of our guests to win.”
With established shops in Crowfoot and Cochrane, the owners of Airdrie Automotive and German Automotive are new to the community of Airdrie, and in hosting this event, they hope to get to know the people they will be serving.
“We want to meet our neighbours and meet the people who live here and give them an opportunity to get to know us.”
Knibbe Automotive in Crowfoot was the very first location opened by the Knibbe family 21 years ago. Since then, they’ve expanded with a second Crowfoot shop, followed by German Automotive also in Crowfoot, and most recently, Airdrie Automotive. The Knibbes were drawn to Airdrie thanks to its strong family and community energy. Many of their team already call this area home, and Airdrie Automotive is a familiar name that’s known throughout the surrounding communities.
There are three things that make Airdrie Automotive and German Automotive stand out, the first being that all their counter staff are professionally licensed. This ensures that all staff can clearly communicate steps and part requirements to clients. Secondly, the company is certified to work on German vehicles including Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, and Volkswagen.
“German vehicles are incredibly complex and challenging to work on,” Knibbe says. “There just weren’t many shops out there that truly specialized in German repairs. We saw a clear opportunity to lead in a space where most shops fall short. Our goal was to specialize in German vehicle repairs and give customers something rare- a shop that not only understands the complexity of these cars, but also earns their trust. We’re here to bridge that gap with expertise and integrity.”
And thirdly, for the women who feel they need to bring a man along just to be taken seriously at a repair shop, Knibbe makes it clear- that’s never been the case in her shops. Respect, transparency, and trust are standard here, no matter who walks through the door.
“As two of the original owners are women, we set out to create a shop where women feel safe, respected, and confident when it comes to car repairs.” ”
The business model from the very start was to be an automotive repair shop that people could trust, one that strived towards honesty, transparency, and communication.
“We set up really specific standards from the very beginning,” Knibbe states. “We show all customers every single part that was removed from their car and explain to them what it does and what was wrong with it. It is super important for our communication. We keep the customers involved with every single step through the entire process.”
Airdrie Automotive has been in business for several years, and Knibbe and her team are excited to take over the legacy that has been lovingly built by the previous owners, as well as add on the German Automotive branch.
