Food, fun, and live entertainment well into the evening, there's something for everyone coming up on August 2nd at Nickle Lake Regional Park for Nickle Lake Day.
"We've got a very busy day, with lots of stuff to do, and we invite everybody to come out," Park Manager Darren Wheeler invited.
"It starts at 8 a.m. with a free pancake breakfast, and that's sponsored by Prairie Sky Co-op, Miller Well Servicing, and Southern Range Well Servicing," he shared.
Activities for kids begin at 10 a.m. in the Beaver Den until 1 p.m., while the Soo Line Cruisers will host a Car Show and the Nickle Lake Market gets underway, featuring vendors until 3 p.m.
Kids can take in a magic show at 1 p.m., with balloon sculpting and face painting at 2 p.m., followed by a Foam Pit Party on the new Sports Court from 3 to 4 p.m., sponsored by Valleyview Petroleums.
A fundraising barbecue will begin at 11 a.m.
"We'll be selling hot dogs and hamburgers over at the Beer Gardens, and all proceeds of this will go towards upgrades in the park or mini golf, our water features, and future developments."
The Beer Gardens will be open from 12 noon until 11 p.m., with live music beginning at 1 p.m., when Karissa Hoffart will keep people entertained until 4:30, sponsored by Quality Plumbing and Heating.
Wheeler said they'll have a KFC supper at 5:30 p.m.
"Advance tickets for these are $15, available at the park office until August 1st at 5 p.m., so we ask everybody to come in and get your tickets for supper."
"Then at 7 p.m., we have Kelly Gill and the Hired Guns playing till 10:30, and they're sponsored by Great Plains Ford. The sound is sponsored by Whitecap Resources and South Country Equipment."
Wheeler added that the campsites are fully booked for the long weekend, but there are still some non-serviced sites available for those still hoping to stay at the park for the festivities.
A gate pass is required to get into the park, either a seasonal or a day pass. Due to all of the other activities that day and evening, there will be no Movie Night featured on August 2nd.
