Lorraine Friesen of Niverville is hoping for a repeat of last year's Summer Shedtacular win after qualifying in CHVN's 25th Birthday Bash.
"I got the text and was shocked. I thought, 'Oh wow, this is great!' Last year, when I got the text, I thought, 'Wow, this is great.' Not thinking that I'd ever win, but sure enough, I did. So we'll see if I have the same luck this year."
After taking the shed home in 2024, Friesen was excited to finally clear out her garage, which she admits is still in progress. "We are doing some work in the shed. We are looking to get some electrical put in there so my husband can work in there anytime."
While Friesen enjoyed the contests on CHVN, she says that the positivity and encouragement is what keeps her tuning in for the last 25 years. "It puts a different perspective on the world and how we can look up above to get strength when things are challenging."
Friesen now has a chance at one of five $10,000 prizes at the 25th Birthday Bash on September 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at True North Square.
If she is the grand prize winner, she knows what prize she is choosing. "I would choose the trip [to Italy]."
