With it being the Heritage Day Long weekend in Alberta, there is plenty to do in the Foothills.
Let's check out what's happening:
Friday, August 1:
In Okotoks, as part of the Nooks & Crannies Festival, there is art hidden in various parts of town. The art pieces will be on display until Aug. 23, and people are able to check them out for free.
From 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Okotoks Public Library, they are hosting their Freezie Fridays, which will be filled with songs and stories. This is the last Freezie Fridays this summer.
At the Okotoks Art Gallery, they currently have their summer exhibits on display. One exhibit is the Members Show and Sale, while the other is the Colour Your World exhibit, which allows kids to colour at the Art Gallery.
The Okotoks Farmers' Market will be at the Viking Rentals Centre parking lot from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., and people will be selling fresh food, treats, and more.
Over at Seaman Stadium, the Okotoks Dawgs will be taking on the Energy City Cactus Rats from Spruce Grove, with the first pitch being tossed at 7:05 p.m.
Friday nights at the Okotoks Rec Centre are Youth Night, which allows those aged 12 to 18 to enjoy the pool and the gymnasium at the Rec Centre until 10 p.m. and the Youth Centre until 11 p.m.
In Nanton, their Round-Up Days kicks off for the weekend. This event runs all weekend long and there will be pancake breakfasts, fireworks, a parade, and more.
Saturday, August 2:
Down in Longview, the Longview Country Market will be taking place across from the Longview Elementrary School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Okotoks Elks Club hosts a perogy lunch and meat draw every Saturday, with the food being served at noon.
The Nooks and Crannies Festival will be running all weekend, same with the exhibits at the Okotoks Art Gallery.
Round-Up days continues all weekend in Nanton.
Sunday, August 3:
The Nooks & Crannies Festival continues all weekend in Okotoks.

Nanton is busy all weekend, thanks to Round-Up Days.
The Okotoks Dawgs will be taking on the Sylvan Lake Gulls at Seaman Stadium, with the game starting at 2:05 p.m. This is their second last regular season game before playoffs begin.
Monday, August 4:
Round-Up Days continues, but Monday is parade day in Nanton.
At the Sheppard Family Park in High River, they will be celebrating the local heritage with a BBQ, live music, and more.
