Weyburn Dodge has made some changes to their 3rd annual Mopar Madness event this year, now calling it 'Mopar Madness & Friends' because they're welcoming owners of all makes and models to bring their vehicles down to show off throughout the event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on August 9th.

"If you have a vehicle that you want to show off to everybody that's going to be coming out here, by all means, bring it down a little bit before 10," shared Fixed Operations Manager, Roger Hill. You can email or call ahead to register your vehicle to rogerh@weyburndodge.ca or 306-861-3256.

He said they are hoping to fill the boulevard on First Avenue between 16th Street to 18th Street with vehicles, as with 50 cars last year, they hope to see 100 this year.

"The city has graciously given us that to have a platform to put the cars. If it rains the day before, we do have a plan in place for having everything cleaned off the lot and having the car show on the pavement here."

Hill said including all makes and models this year is part of the community-mindedness of the Owners of Weyburn Dodge, Jeff Tosczak and James Bell, as growing the event will attract more people, and they can raise more funds for local organizations through a barbecue of hamburgers, hot dogs, and pop, with proceeds going to a local charity still to be determined.

"We want to get some good funds that we can donate, because Weyburn is a great community for that. Jeff and James are big on donating to the local charities that need that help."

The Weyburn Humane Society will be selling mini donuts and the $100 'Ride for Paws, Support the Cause' raffle tickets for the 2025 Jeep Compass North 4x4, for which the draw is coming up on August 23rd at Weyburn Dodge.

CollabArtive Studios will also be on the scene, facilitating a tote-bag painting project and their famous spin wheel, where every spin is a winner.

Another new feature this year, Hill said, is that rather than just bragging rights, 'Weyburn Dodge Bucks' will be awarded to those who win first, second, and participants' choice prizes.

"First is going to be $1,000, second is going to be $500, and participants' choice is $250, so it can be used against anything in the dealership here. If they need new tires, if they need work on another vehicle, we have clothing here, you name it."

He said Weyburn has a good number of nice classic cars, many of which he has seen at previous events.

"Some of these newer Challengers and Mustangs and Camaros and stuff as well, those are great, we just wanted to have something to fill the boulevard and have a nice big show."

"The owners of these cars put a lot of dollars and time into them, and it's nice to be appreciated and not only by everybody walking by and looking at them, but for the winners, it's nice to be able to buy something maybe more for that car."

"Just being able to walk that boulevard and look at everything that somebody's either put a lot of time into an old classic or they purchased a new vehicle and it's kind of their thing, they really want to show it off, and that's great, because that's what makes everybody that walks through there go, 'Wow'. It might not be somebody's flavour, but the next person will think it's cool."

"Young or old, everybody likes to come out and look at nice cars."
