Christian artist Hannah Kerr and her husband, Jason Earley, received a happy surprise when their son decided to come a bit ahead of schedule.
On July 29 at 8:58 a.m., Hannah gave birth to Owen Shepherd Earley, three and a half weeks early.
"He's doing amazing," said Kerr in a post on social media. "He just couldn’t wait to join the party!"
Although he was almost a month early, Earley came out weighing 7lbs 1oz and measuring 18 inches long.
"God’s mercy and kindness are in every detail of the story, especially the ones we didn’t even know to pray for," said Kerr. "He is healthy and strong, and we’re so grateful for this blessing God has given us. Welcome to the world, Owen!"
When it came to his name, Owen was special to them because it means a noble young warrior. It is also a family name. They chose Shepard for the fact that it means born leader.
This is the pair's first child, and an answer to their prayers.
"We are SO in love with him. God is so good. We are now a family of THREE!"
