The vision of the global church hasn't changed in the eyes of S.O. Oladele, who is the President of Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide in Nigeria and overseas.
"Our vision for the global church should not be different from that which has been the vision of the church for years," Oladele said. "You're the light of the world. You're the salt of the earth."
Oladele said the body of Christ should be singing the same song that was sung by our forebears in the faith. "The Bible says when Christ entered into Jerusalem on that great triumphant day, those who went before and who are coming behind are singing the same song, Hosanna. So the global church today should be singing the same song that was sung by our forebears in the faith."
When it comes to diaspora communities, Oladele says the role of the church is not new. "When Israel was in the land of Babylon, the prophet of God told them to seek the peace of the country where they were domiciled. Wherever we go in foreign lands, we need to first and foremost seek the peace of that country.
"We see some other religious adherents. When they go to countries that are not theirs and begin to plan against that kind of country. That's not good. The Bible says seek the peace of the country where you are domiciled, seek the welfare, be good ambassadors of the Lord Jesus Christ anywhere you find yourself."
Oladele believes there is a crisis when it comes to leadership. "It's like as long as you have the charisma, the gift, you're able to speak and to do things like that. That's all that is needed. It's like there is no more correlation between what you say and what you do."
When he thinks of what is needed, Oladele says it is integrity. "Integrity matters when we lead. Our work must not be different from our talk."
He wants to encourage others to keep faith.
Oladele believes the world needs a continuous revival. "A revival that broke out in some countries in the past, Scotland, Wales, England, America, everywhere. And that's what we need today.
"Revival is bringing back the very hand of God, bringing it down. Revival is when people confess their sin and repent. When revival breaks, crimes will be reduced and all sorts of vices will be reduced. People will live in peace and in holiness and in righteousness. That's what we need today by the grace of God."
