The U13 AAA Canucks are gearing up for an exciting journey to Chilliwack, British Columbia, where they’ll compete in the prestigious Western Canadian Baseball Championship from August 15 to 17.

Coach Rod Bauck shared the significance of the moment: “The boys have worked incredibly hard all season. We’ve played 42 games and practiced three to four times a week. This is a huge accomplishment for our team.”

Second baseman Tanner Usher expressed the team’s enthusiasm: “We’re excited to head out to BC and compete.”

The Canucks will be joined by players from Bethune, Regina, and Saskatoon, forming a 14-player roster. Ten of the athletes are from Moose Jaw, with one from Bethune, two from Regina, and one from Saskatoon.

To support their trip, the team is actively fundraising. Local businesses and community members have already stepped up, and a fundraising BBQ is scheduled for Saturday at the Purposed Financial parking lot. Co-op has generously donated 300 burgers, buns, and drinks for the event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For those interested in making private donations, reach out to mj13ucanucks@gmail.com. Donations will help cover transportation, meals, accommodations, and potential extracurricular activities for the players during their stay in Chilliwack.
