Altona's Gospel Festival was created three years ago by a committee of seven people who had a vision of bringing gospel music to town with an inviting outdoor setting and now, they are prepped and ready to bring us the third annual gospel music concert this Saturday (Aug 16th) at Altona's Centennial Park!
Well attended
Larry Wiebe is one of seven committee members who came together to bring the Altona Gospel Festival to life and touched on the first two concerts being well attended, "
We have been perhaps blown away by the attendance. First year we had between around 250 to just over 500 depending on the time of day. Towards supper and later, it was going up above 400 and then up into just over 500. Last year we started one hour earlier, we started at twelve instead of one, we added a group and the final was up above 600.
I'm the one that has done the counting and some people have disputed my count. Some of the some of the performers said to me, look, we've been playing these things... you had well over 1000 people there. I won't argue it and I'll gladly admit I'm wrong because it's hard to count people that are moving.
So blessed with attendance. The comments have been just so exceptionally positive. We did well."
The Lineup
Larry continued, "The stage we are pleased again with some of the same attendees. A lot of local talent, anywhere between Altona, Horndean, Coulee, Winkler and Morden."

Good Eats
The YFC food truck will be on-site serving up their delicious sausage burgers, hot dogs and freshly squeezed lemonade AND the 2 Bro'zz food truck will be coming out from Morden with their incredible smash burgers and fries! Between the two, the sandwiches are well covered and their will be coffee available for purchase as well.
Donations
Larry explained how the donations will be used by the festival, "We would love to have some donations. How do they get used? Well, we do pay our entertainers. Umm, a small fee just to help them a little bit with their expenses. They're sure not getting rich on what we give them, but we want to just give them a small honorarium to let them know they're appreciated. I think I will speak for most, if not all, they do this for the love of music. They do this for the love of family. They do this for the love of presenting the message of Jesus."
