For over 20 years, Manitobans hve been able to support the Children's Hospital in a sweet way.

August 14 is the 23rd annual Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen, a day that Kathryn McBurney and the team at the Children's Hospital Foundation look forward to every year.

"It is a wonderful day, one of the most fun days of the year, you can go out and get your favourite blizzard and you'll know that 100% of the proceeds are going to help children in the hospital," McBurney who is the Vice President of Marketing and Communications with Children’s hospital foundation of Manitoba said.

Over the years, Dairy Queen has raised over $2.4 million in Manitoba. "All the funds raised in Manitoba stay here for the kids who need the Children's Hospital and it is our only Children's Hospital in Manitoba, so we do need the funds."

McBurney has been apart of Miracle Treat Day for the last six years, and it's always a highlight for her. "I love that their crews are so invested. So when you go in and get your blizzard, please thank those crews. They worked so hard all day long and they're giving 100% of those proceeds to the Children's Hospital. So I just appreciate them so, so much."

Anyone going into a Dairy Queen in Winnipeg may also see a special guest. "Doctor Goodbear is driving around Winnipeg today going to all the DQ's. So Doctor Goodbear is out there for about ten hours today, might be a little bit of a hot bear later in the afternoon, but you can follow his path at CHF Manitoba and then you might be able to catch Doctor Goodbear at one of the DQ's and take a photo."

She added, "We want everyone to go out, have fun, get a blizzard, maybe take a photo of yourself holding it upside down and make sure you hashtag it. Miracle treat day. And then you'll know that you're helping the kids."

Manitobans can try any flavour of blizzard and know the money is going to a good cause. For McBurney, her favourite is a classic. "I love cookie dough. There are so many options. I think everyone has their favourites or several favourites. It's great to see people out trying different things."
