The communities of Winkler and Morden are rolling out the red carpet as they host the 2025 U15 Canadian Fastpitch Championships from August 13–17. With both the male and female national tournaments happening simultaneously for the first time, the region is ready to shine as a hub for young athletic talent.

"What you're going to see is girls who really leave everything out on the field, every game." shared former U15 Central Energy coach Graham Shindle. With Central Energy rounding out their tournament so far with four wins and two losses, Shindle shared that win or lose, it's all about the empowering dynamics being involved in softball offers: "the vibe around softball is always one of empowerment and building each other up... I think as you look around, you'll see a lot of great sportsmanship." Shindle added: "You'll see girls who play really hard, really aggressively, and then exchange pins and clips, et cetera, after the game... and become good friends and build relationships."

Shindle shared that while it's not a new experience for the team to make it to the national championships, it is an "astonishing thing for our organization" to be able to host. "The nationals we've attended previously have been in places like Toronto, and Calgary, and Montreal" Shindle added. "To bring these championships to Winkler and Morden, and to our part of southern Manitoba...it's really fantastic. It really speaks volumes to what the Energy board has been able to do with this program."
