After undergoing hip surgery earlier this week, Pastor Greg Laurie, lead pastor of Harvest Church in California, is giving thanks to God for allowing him to share his goodness, even before the procedure took place.

"From the moment I walked into the hospital, God surrounded me with believers — the receptionist, the nurses, even my doctor, who asked me to pray for him before his surgeries that day," said Laurie in a post on social media. "My anesthesiologist was also a Christian. What a blessing!"

According to Laurie, when he arrived for surgery, doctors couldn't believe he had been walking with his hip in the shape it was.

"For all practical purposes, I wasn’t… but I did manage to make it to the baptism and preach a couple of sermons last Sunday."

Laurie says the surgery was successful, and he is now starting the recovery process.

"I’m home, resting, starting physical therapy, and very grateful," said Laurie. "Thank you again for all your prayers and encouragement — and a big thank-you to my amazing doctor and medical team."

Harvest Church, which has three locations in California and one in Hawaii, was founded by Laurie in 1973. He continues to preach as Lead Pastor at their location in Orange County.
