Both sunshine and fun are taking over the Foothills this weekend.

Let's see what's happening in the Foothills this weekend:

Friday, August 22:

At this week's Nature Fridays event at the Environmental Education Centre in Okotoks, youth will learn about Tee-Rific Upcycle from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. At this event, they are helping to give old t-shirts a new life.

This is one of your last chances to check out the artwork part of the Nooks & Crannies Festival in Okotoks. This festival runs until Aug. 23, and there are hidden pieces of art hidden around town to be found.

At the Okotoks Art Gallery, their summer exhibits are on display, and everyone can check them out for free. One of their exhibits is the Member Show and Sale, while the other is the Colour Your World exhibit, which allows children to colour at the art gallery. This exhibit will be up until Sept. 4.

The Okotoks Farmers' Market will be in the parking lot at the Viking Rentals Centre from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., and people will be selling their fresh food, treats, and more.

Down in Nanton, the Nanton Pro Rodeo is kicking off their second year of competition at 6 p.m. On top of the regular rodeo events, Chase Morgan & The Trembley Brothers will be performing once the rodeo action ends for the night.

The Okotoks Pro Rodeo is also starting this night, with the performance starting at 6 p.m. at the Millarville Racetrack. There will be the normal rodeo events, as well as Mutton Busting, Wild Pony races, and Dummy Roping.

Friday nights at the Okotoks Rec Centre are Youth Nights, where anyone under the age of 18 are able to enjoy the Rec Centre pool and gymnasium until 10 p.m. and the Youth Centre until 11 p.m.

Saturday, August 23:

Down in Longview, their Longview Country Market will be happening every Saturday until Sept 27. The Markets run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Town of Okotoks' Summer Round Up event kicks off at 11 a.m. At this event, there will also be a Chili Cookoff, which will see competitors compete to see who makes the best chili in town.

This is the final day of the Nooks & Crannies Festival this year.

The Okotoks Elks Club is hosting a perogy lunch and meat draw, with lunch being served at noon.

In High River, as part of the Venue Summer Series, Jennie Harluk will be performing. Harluk is a singer/songwriter from Calgary known for her lyrical storytelling.

The Okotoks Dawgs and the Town of Okotoks have teamed up to present Fleetwood Magic live at Seaman Stadium. Brettyn Rose, Chase Morgan, and Girl Crush are all opening for the Fleetwood Mac tribute band. This is the second concert held at Seaman Stadium. The show begins at 5 p.m.

Both the Okotoks Pro Rodeo and Nanton Pro Rodeo are happening Saturday evening.

Sunday, August 24:

This is the final night of the Okotoks Pro Rodeo.

As part of Bandstand Sundays in High River, Jason Andrew Griffith will be performing, starting at 1 p.m.

There are drop-in activities in Okotoks for all to enjoy.
