Famous country star Wynona Judd's daughter, Grace Kelley, had her whole life turned around after she encountered the love of God last year.
Kelley has had a traumatic past filled with drugs, addiction, abuse, and jail time.
"This is the first time in my life that I’ve genuinely been at peace," says Kelley to PEOPLE Magazine in an exclusive interview.
Kelley was arrested three times in 2024 and spent some time in jail. Through these difficulties, Kelley encountered the incredible grace of God.
In October, Kelley stole a van from a church in Charlottesville, VA, called Charlottesville Ground Zero Church of the Nazarene. Police ended up putting her in prison for six weeks because of it. Rather than get angry or hold a grudge, the pastors of the church, Kent and Meghan Hunt, pursued a relationship with her.
"If it wasn’t for Pastor Kent and Megan, I would still be out there using," Kelley shared on social media. "I’d still be out there doing the same thing I was. My entire life, the reason I traveled so much is because I was looking for home. But ever since I came to Charlottesville and gave my life to God — oh, man, it’s just beautiful. I love it here."
Afer Kelley was released from jail, she became a member of the church and was recently baptized, professing publicly her love of the Lord.
The journey of healing hasn't been easy for Kelley, with a tumultuous relationship with her mother since she was young. Kelley opened up about it in detail during her interview with PEOPLE. Judd currently has full custody of Kelley's three-year-old daughter, Kaliyah, with a restraining order against Kelley.
Even through all of the pain, Kelley recently celebrated nine months of sobriety.
“We talk every day and [Meghan’s] like, ‘Grace, you are not, and you never were evil. You’re the sweetest person we know,'" says Kelley. "When I came up here, I found people who believed in me and I found the goodness of God. That’s when everything changed for me."
Kelley has recently written her memoir and is currently seeking someone to endorse and publish it.
“Nothing’s going to change until you truly change your heart. And by the grace of God, I’m able to have a changed heart today."
