You know, I've just returned to the radio station after a two-week summer vacation. It's not easy coming back but I can imagine how tough it would be if I didn't enjoy what I do for a living.
And, upon my return, I received a report from ADP Canada, an organization that provides payroll, human resources and workforce management.
Their most recent "Happiness at Work Index" finds Saskatchewan and Manitoba are tied for "happiest regions in the country to work in". Both provinces posted a national-high score of 7.1 out of 10.
The report says, "While many provinces are grappling with workplace dissatisfaction and rising return-to-office pressure, workers in Saskatchewan and Manitoba are holding strong".
We scored work-life balance and flexibility at a nation-leading 7.2 which is well above Alberta at 6.4, for example.
ADP found Baby Boomers in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, those born between 1946 and 1964, rate workplace happiness highest among all age groups nationally with "value placed on flexibility and time off" continuing to shape workplace culture.
They conclude the "regional story in Saskatchewan and Manitoba stands out as a model for what's working".
