The Krahn Barn in Neubergthal has hosted many concerts and performances over the years and they are ready to go with another toe-tapping, upbeat group this Saturday (Sept 6th), The Stanley County Cut-ups!

The Krahn Barn
Margruite Krahn has been putting on concerts at the Krahn Barn in Neubergthal with her partner Paul since 2000, "We reach out to people that we think would be a good fit and I would say in the last few years, bands, musicians have reached out to us and in the case of the Stanley County Cut-ups. They reached out to us to see if they could put on the concerts.
We live in the Krahn Barn, I think a lot of people have probably heard of the Krahn Barn over the years, we live in the lower level, and the upper level is a 140-seat concert venue."
The Stanley County Cut-ups
Who are the Stanley County Cut-Ups?
Winnipeg bluegrass supergroup combines northern style with southern flavour
From hard drivin' banjo solos to four part harmony singing, blues infused mandolin breaks and hair-raising fiddle tunes, this quintet covers all the bluegrass bases.
For many years the Cut-Ups have been performing their brand of Canadian bluegrass across the country and their performances have been described as "more than fine" and "refilling my folk music cup" by audience members. The Cutups include Jess Reimer on bass, Jeremy Hamm on mandolin, fiddler Jeremy Penner, banjo/dobro player Tim Osmond and guitarist T.J. Blair. All sing two, three and four part harmonies in a bluegrass style over original compositions and traditional numbers.
To hear them come together to perform as a bluegrass band is sure to lure fans of The Stanley Brothers, Jim & Jesse McReynolds, Bill Monroe, Hazel Dickens and others from the bluegrass canon.
We here at Pembina Valley Online also had the opportunity to feature the Stanley County Cut-ups on our Made in Manitoba program back in April of 2021, you can enjoy that program below:
