The Powerview RCMP have arrested a 56-year-old after two teenagers were cut and attacked by a machete.
On August 30, 2025, at 6:05 am, the Powerview RCMP were informed that a 16-year-old male had been treated at the Pine Falls hospital with serious injuries caused by a machete.
The police responded immediately and went to the residence where they found another victim, this one, a 17-year-old male.
Both teens were transferred to a Winnipeg hospital for better treatment.
RCMP continued to investigate and found out that the suspect in this attack also had a firearm on their person.
On September 12, 2025, Powerview RCMP issued a warrant of arrest for Lorin Morrisseau of Pine Falls.
The next day, the police and the RCMP Emergency Response Team went to Morrisseau's residence to make the arrest and search the property with a warrant.
Morrisseau, 56, has been remanded in custody and has been charged with:
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purposes x 2
- Aggravated assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault causing bodily harm,
- Possession of firearm while prohibited
- Using a firearm in the commission of an offence
- Unauthorised possession of a firearm
