There's "The Boys of Summer" from Don Henley and "Echo Beach" from Martha and the Muffins - great songs that are all about this time of year. It's a tough time for those of us who love summer. It's difficult to say goodbye, especially for we Canadians. Our summers are so short.
Astronomical autumn arrives today, marking the start of the shortest season on the prairies.
It's so much fun to get the lawn furniture and the garden tools out of storage and seemingly painful to pack it all up again.
We'll have to wear socks and long pants again. We'll have to bundle up and warm up the car in the morning.
However, it's interesting to note, we finished off summer on the weekend with a number of Saskatchewan centres setting new record-high temperatures. In fact, Indian Head was the Canadian hotspot yesterday at 31.5 degrees!
What's more? Environment Canada, The Weather Network and the Old Farmer's Almanac are all predicting a nice, mild fall for all in Canada.
We can say "so long" to summer with a smile this year - happy that it happened and not so sad that it's over because, it's still so nice out there!
