Class 1 drivers & mechanics looking for a new opportunity are invited to BBQ open house in Blumenort
Categories

Among the key values of Steve’s Livestock Transport is a commitment to “Make it Better Together.”

It’s an emphasis on employee wellbeing and family life that continues to make the Blumenort, Manitoba enterprise a fulfilling place to work. On Thursday, August 11, Steve’s is inviting prospective new hires to a recruitment fair at the yard just south of Provincial Road 311 in Blumenort.

“We’ve been located here a long time and I think a lot of people aren’t always aware of what we do or who we are,” says Candace Bartel. “We want to invite anyone who’s interested in looking for a job to come out and visit us.”

Bartel, VP Organizational Development at Steve’s, says managers will be on hand at the 4pm-8pm event to engage with candidates and perform interviews for numerous positions with Steve’s Livestock Transport and BVT Truck and Trailer Repair.

“If you’re a Class 1 driver, an owner-operator, or a mechanic—or even someone who’s interested in becoming a mechanic—we’d love to get to know you in person.”

The open house will feature prizes draws and a BBQ—the sort of community environment synonymous with Steve’s. As Bartel points out, the business currently supports 400 families at its locations in Blumenort, Brandon, and Red Deer, Alberta. It works under the ethos that each employee is part of the organization and has an important role to play.

“We work together with our team members, and one of our primary values is to “Make it Better Together,” she says. “Everybody has a role to play in helping us do that.”

Community is a tangible area where the Steve’s companies, which include Steve’s Livestock Transport, BVT Truck and Trailer, Dawson Road Transfer, Blue Water Wash, and United Transportation Driver Training, can make a real difference. This year, for example, they sponsored jerseys for the Blumenort Hawks program, and next year they’re looking forward to helping get the new Youth For Christ centre off the ground.

“We believe that a strong community helps to build strong businesses and strong families, so we participate in lots of different opportunities,” Bartel explains. “We believe in giving back and supporting the organizations that make us a strong community.”

Steve’s is celebrating a proud history of 35 years in 2022. Job-seekers are welcome to become part of the legacy of the next 35.

Career openings are listed on the company website, and the career open house will be open Thursday, August 11, 4pm-8pm.
