COMBINED LOGOS

This Sunday, August 14th at 2:00pm, Jazz Winnipeg, in partnership with the Dalnavert Museum, will be presenting “A Jazz Winnipeg Garden Party” that will feature The Andrew Littleford Quintet.

Known for his great trumpet playing and diverse musical abilities, Andrew is one of the most sought after trumpet players on Winnipeg’s musical scene.

Aside from leading the Andrew Littleford Quintet where he composes and plays his own music; he is a founding member of the Dirty Catfish Brass Band, and is also involved with the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra, Ron Paley Big Band, Hot & Dirty Dance Party, Winnipeg Jazz Collective, in addition to a plethora of other groups around the city. Andrew can also be heard on a variety of albums with other Manitoba musicians.

This Sunday’s concert will feature jazz that Littleford very much feels connected with. “I’m going to be performing some of my own music, also some jazz standards, and a few songs from more modern jazz musicians…people who are still alive and playing and people that I admire and like their music, “ says Littleford.

The Andrew Littleford Quintet was formed over the COVID pandemic, and consists of musicians who are not only phenomenal players, but also dear and close friends. The quintet consists of Littleford on trumpet, Grayden Cramer on drums, Devon Gillingham on bass, Will Bonness on piano, and Monica Jones on saxophone.

The setting is a perfect one for the kind of easy listening jazz that the quintet will be performing. The Dalnavert Museum presents a very casual garden party atmosphere, and there is no better way to enjoy this garden party than with some amazing jazz. As Littleford says, “Playing outdoors in this really pretty garden setting…I think it is going to be a really good backdrop for the music I’m going to present.”

“A Jazz Winnipeg Garden Party” takes place this Sunday, August 14th at 2:00pm at the Dalnavert Museum, which is located at 61 Carlton Street. The tickets are $25.00, and are available on the Eventbrite website, or at the door.

What better way to enjoy a Winnipeg summer afternoon…than with some great jazz at the Dalnavert Museum!
