Bows at the ready!

String players of all skill levels and ages will return to the campus at Canadian Mennonite University to take part in one of Canada’s premier training grounds.

Rosamunde Summer Music Academy returns to in-person programming after two years of restrung virtual intensives.

Offering a tailored, high-calibre musical learning experience with a faculty of outstanding performers and teachers, Rosamunde takes an all-encompassing approach to string instruction.

“It’s got a whole number of elements that, I don’t think, the combination exists really anywhere else,” says artistic director Elation Pauls.

Between technique classes, masterclasses, chamber music and orchestral performance opportunities as well as extension classes — including physical and mental wellbeing workshops and historically informed performance instruction — the emphasis is on creating a well-rounded musician.

Three streams are provided to participants: “Core” programming for advanced players age 10-19, “Rosamundiade” geared towards adult amateur musicians and the “Pre-Professional” program for university students preparing for careers in music.
