Quilters and Portagers alike are coming together at the MNP Exhibition Building for the Country Lane Quilters Guild Quilt Show today! This event is an annual event where they showcase some of the best quilters in the Interlake. Pat Crandall, one of the organizers, notes that the day is jam-packed.
"The building will be filled with quilts. We have a featured quilter of Sandra Wallace, so she'll have much of her work on display." Crandall continues, "We have two or three vendors where you can purchase fabric and quilt-related vendors. We'll have a bed-turning at 1:00 p.m. featuring hand-quilted quilts. Lastly, we have light lunch available, so you can bring someone along. You can sit and eat pie but then have a look at the quilts."
Crandall says that the event starts at 10 a.m. and until four p.m. today, and she is excited to see what everyone will think of the quilts that people have spent so much time working on. She also mentions that the last time she saw everyone's quilts were at the Portage Ex this year, and she was amazed to see how wonderful everyone was.
"Something that is exciting is that we are going to announce the winner of the MASS quilt competition at 11 o'clock."
She concludes by saying that she wants to see everyone and their friends head to the MNP Exhibition Building today to admire all the hard work.
