Humboldt/Lanigan RCMP seeking information about stolen jewellery

The Humboldt/Lanigan RCMP are investigating an incident that saw jewellery stolen from a local residence.  

Sometime on Friday, May 16, between 9:30-5:00 unknown suspects broke into the residence and stole jewelry out of their jewelry box inside the home.

16U Men's Humboldt Chaos Volleyball Club to compete Youth Nationals in Edmonton

 

The 16U Men's Humboldt Chaos Volleyball Club will be competing against the some of the best teams in Canada as a part of the Youth Nationals in Edmonton. 

Today the Chaos Volleyball Club will be in action with three games, they will face the Barn Owls Volleyball Club from BC, then they will square off with the Jr. Gryphons from Ontario, before they wrap up the first day of action against the Fort Sask Sonic VC from Alberta. 

City of Humboldt hosts information night on Golf Club partnership

To provide clarity and transparency around its ongoing support of the Humboldt Golf Club, the City of Humboldt hosted an information night on Tuesday evening at the Uniplex. The event drew residents to learn more about the city’s financial involvement with the golf club and the long-term plans to ensure its sustainability. 

City Manager Joe Day addressed attendees and explained the rationale behind the city’s decision to partner with the Humboldt Golf Club during a period of financial hardship. 

Melfort RCMP asks the public to report sightings of Jasmine Head

Melfort RCMP are attempting to locate 30-year-old Jasmine Head of James Smith Cree Nation. She also goes by the name ‘Jazmyne Head’.   

She is wanted on a warrant by Melfort RCMP for firearms charges. These charges were laid in relation to a November 2024 investigation.

RCMP Prince Albert GIS seeking information about fatal pedestrian collision on Highway #11 near MacDowall

Saskatchewan RCMP's Prince Albert General Investigation Section (GIS) is trying to gather information about a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred early this morning 
on Highway #11 just south of MacDowall.

The preliminary investigation has determined that the male victim had injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. It's believed the incident occurred in the southbound lanes.

Prince Albert's General Investigation Section believe the vehicle was a black Jeep which likely has damage to its front end. 

Saskatchewan road construction season set to get underway

Along with the beginning of summer, the May long weekend is the starting point for construction season on Saskatchewan highways.  

"Road and utility workers, first responders, tow truck operators and many other are all working for you on and near our highways, streets and roads," Highways Minister David Marit said. "We ask all motorists to slow down, follow the signs and respect flag persons no matter where their summer travels take them. We want everyone to get home safely." 

Broncos announce commitment of D Charlie Nameth for 2025-26 season

The Humboldt Broncos have announced the commitment of 2007-born defenceman Charlie Nameth for the upcoming 2025-26 season.  

A product of Southey, Nameth spent the past season with the Moose Jaw Warriors U18 AAA squad finishing with 33 points (5G-28A), which doubled his total of 16 points the prior campaign.  

Mammography Bus to arrive in Humboldt on Tuesday

Starting on Tuesday (May 20) you may notice a bus that will be taking residency inside of the parking lot in at Canalta Hotel in Humboldt.  

It’s Mammography Bus run by the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. The mobile unit travels around to the province every second year to 42 different stops every second year and provides screening mammography to women 47 and older that are not having any breast symptoms. If women are having breast symptoms, they should be meeting with their healthcare provider.
