Goldeyes win sixth straight, sweep Milwaukee

The Winnipeg Goldeyes (36-28) put a bow on their schedule before the All-Star break Sunday afternoon, defeating the Milwaukee Milkmen 8-0 at Blue Cross Park for the series sweep.

It was Winnipeg’s sixth win in a row, which is the longest streak in the league this season. As usual, the Goldeyes took down the Milkmen (31-33) in the only way they seem to know how, with spectacular pitching and scoring runs when they need them most.

Goldeyes sweep Explorers for second time this season

The Winnipeg Goldeyes (33-28) pulled to within 3.5 games of first place in the West Division with a 5-4, come-from-behind victory over the Sioux City Explorers at Lewis & Clark Park Thursday evening. The Goldeyes swept the three-game set and have won eight of nine contests against the Explorers this season.

Matulovich spins another masterpiece

Joey Matulovich and Joey Steele combined on a two-hit shutout as the Winnipeg Goldeyes (31-28) defeated the Sioux City Explorers 7-0 at Lewis & Clark Park Tuesday evening.

Matulovich (W, 7-2) went seven innings and surrendered just a third inning double while striking out five and walking a pair. He saw his earned run average fall to 2.31 on the season.
 

Goldeyes rally to defeat Kansas City

Held hitless for the first five innings, the Winnipeg Goldeyes (27-26) erupted for six runs in the sixth and went on to defeat the Kansas City Monarchs 7-3 at Blue Cross Park Tuesday evening.

RedHawks make early lead stand to take series

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (30-21) jumped out to a five-run lead and defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes 8-5 at Blue Cross Park Sunday afternoon. Fargo-Moorhead won the series two games to one.
