A cinematographer from Steinbach has been working on an incredible project that can be viewed this weekend. 

Cullen Klassen is the Director of Photography for the six-part documentary series called ‘Missionary: Obeying the Great Commission’. 

The Manitoba Country Music Association is hosting the annual award ceremony this Sunday and Quinton Blair is one of the many local artists nominated to win an award. 

Blair is nominated for Male Artist of the Year, Fay Walker Song of the Year and Single of the Year with the song ‘Someday Sunday’. 

He says that leading up to the big day, he is feeling excited to see everyone. 

ATV Clubs in the Southeast will begin to close down the trails for the winter after a great season. 

Gary Hora, President of the Woodridge Sandhogs and the ATV Association of Manitoba, mentions that traffic was slow during the spring, but the rest of the season has been quite busy. 

Each year, Roseau Valley School (RVS) in Dominion City hosts a ‘Love My Community Day’ event and this year, they added something new.  

Vice Principal, Jennifer Collette, says Love My Community Day started with an idea from a grade 3 class she taught a few years ago. 

Rural Municipalities including Stuartburn have had challenges keeping up with the road infrastructure due to the rain.  

The Reeve of RM of Stuartburn, Michelle Gawronsky says that the drain in Vita and ditch cleaning during the winter has been beneficial but says the roads have taken a beating. 

Rosaline (Roz) Krahn, a member of the United Church Women (UCW) in Niverville, has dedicated the past few years to completing an incredible project.  

In 2022, she had the idea to send a quilt to Ukraine for President Zelenskyy in hopes of helping him feel some comfort during the difficult times in Ukraine. 

“I thought it would be nice to put the quilt over himself and have a little nap and refresh himself,” says Krahn. 

As a Ukrainian, she says it feels like something she could do for Ukraine.
