Tim Tebow fighting for voiceless, aims to rescue 50,000 children currently being trafficked

Former NFL and outspoken Christian Tim Tebow spoke on Capital Hill this week to help stop the abuse of child sexual exploitation online with a new act. 

Tebow endorsed the Renewed Hope Act, a legislation that would enhance the ability of U.S. Immigration and Customs and Enforcement and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to rescue exploitation victims and identify predators. The goal is to help rescue 50,000 children currently being exploited.

Missing McCreary man safely located

RCMP say that a missing man has been found safe.

On Sept. 12 at 3:45 p.m., Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP received a report of a missing 50-year-old male from a residence located in McCreary.

The man was last seen leaving his residence on Sept. 6, and Mounties said he was known to frequent the City of Winnipeg and the Town of Swan River.

RCMP had said his family was worried for his safety.

On Sept. 14 the Manitoba RCMP sent out a release saying he had been safely located. The RCMP thanked the public for their assistance.

Unspoken releases first album in over five years

For the first time in over five years, Unspoken has released a new studio album. 

The band shared the exciting news on Instagram saying, "We’re so excited about our new album, called IV, dropping September 13! We hope these songs point you to the hope we have in Jesus and that you’re encouraged and blessed!"

The 10-song project is the long-awaited follow-up to the band's Reason, which came out in 2019. 

Premier asks Manitobans for input on design of new plastic health cards

Premier Wab Kinew is asking Manitobans for help in deciding which design to use for the soon-to-be-released brand-new plastic health cards. 

The province announced in March that Budget 2024 would include funding to implement a new plastic health card. 

This week, Kinew took to his Instagram page to display three draft designs for the new cards.

A celebration of life for Esther Rempel-Harms will be held Tuesday, September 17th at 11am at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with private family interment prior to the service at Heritage Cemetery. 

1 dead, 3 sent to hospital following Portage Ave. collision

One person is dead and three people are in hospital following a crash on Portage Avenue during Friday morning's rush hour in Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Police Service says that a pickup truck drove through a bus shelter and hydro pole on Portage Avenue and Bedson Street around 7:39 a.m.

In a press release, the WPS says that members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service attended to a pedestrian who had succumbed to their injuries. Three additional patients were transported to the hospital, all currently listed as stable.

Yearlong criminal trial of 'Freedom Convoy' organizers comes to an end

After 45 days of evidence and legal arguments the criminal trial of "Freedom Convoy" organizers Tamara Lich and Chris Barber is finally at an end.

A verdict could be as much as six months away.

"I don’t know in this moment when I will be in a position to give my decision," Justice Heather Perkins-McVey said Friday.

She said "it's a little daunting," given the unusually great volume of evidence and legal questions associated with the case. 

Winnipeg Goldeyes advance to the Wolff Cup Final

It's an exciting week for the Winnipeg Goldeyes as they advance to the Wolff Cup final after defeating the Fargo-Moorehead RedHawks in a do-or-die game Thursday night. 

The Goldeyes led the entire game, allowing only one run from the RedHawks with a final score of 3-1.
