Elections Canada has released the official list of candidates for the Foothills riding.

The nomination deadline was April 7, with the list being released on Wednesday, April 9.

As expected, it's looking like a full slate.

The candidates, in alphabetical order, are:

Elections Canada has released the list of confirmed candidates for the Red Deer and Ponoka-Didsbury ridings for the April 28 federal election.

Advance voting takes place April 18 - 21.

Red Deer:

The final list of federal election candidates in the Airdrie-Cochrane riding was confirmed early this morning by Elections Canada.

After some jockeying, the Airdrie-Cochrane riding has five candidates confirmed for the Apr. 28th election.

The leaders of the top three federal parties were campaigning Tuesday in Western Canada, where Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre promised to crack down on offshore tax loopholes by appointing a tax task force.

The Conservatives said the task force would be asked to make the rules simpler and more fair and would ensure large companies can't "stash their money in offshore tax havens."

Ted Falk is running again for the Conservative seat in Provencher. Not only is Falk personally looking to win a 5th consecutive election, but he is also hoping for a return to power, rather than serving in opposition as he has been doing for the last decade. 

With the upcoming election on April 28, the Pembina Valley Local Immigration Partnership (PVLIP) is taking steps to ensure that all eligible voters—especially newcomers to Canada—understand the voting process.

The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce is planning an All-Candidates Federal Election Forum for Tuesday, April 15 @ 6:00pm via Zoom. 

All confirmed candidates for the Grande Prairie Constituency are invited to share their platforms and answer questions on key issues for our region.

Registration will be required to receive the Zoom link to participate.

The incumbent Cypress Hills-Grasslands MP is embracing the latest boundary changes ahead of the April 28 federal election.

Swift Current-Grasslands-Kindersley Conservative Party of Canada candidate Jeremy Patzer, who's seeking a third term in Parliament, said it's an honour and privilege to have his name on the ballot again. The riding has been redistributed after 28 years and 11 federal elections.

Voters in Provencher will have five candidates to choose from in the upcoming federal election.

Monday was the close of nominations for candidates in the April 28 election. Elections Canada has now updated its list of confirmed candidates for each constituency.
