The Brier begins tonight in Regina with other events around Portage as well

It is one of the busiest times of the year for curling. Close to home, the Portage Curling Club will host their annual ladies' bonspiel while there are open bonspiels in Westbourne, Holland, Balmoral, and Boissevain. The Teulon Curling Club is celebrating 100 years with a banquet and bonspiel while there are men's events in Dauphin and Selkirk. A family bonspiel with take place in La Salle.

But Canada's best will be in Regina and two Manitoba teams are a part of the 18 team field.

Scotties Tournament of Hearts - round robin ends today

The round-robin portion of the Canadian Woman's Curling Championships ends today and playoffs are looming. Four of the 18 teams in the event are from Manitoba with two in each pool of nine. The top 3 teams from each pool will be moving on to the playoff portion of the event.
