NDP’s break from Liberal deal Is a "Media Stunt," says Portage-Lisgar MP Leslie

With what Portage-Lisgar MP Branden Leslie calls a "media stunt," the NDP is attempting to distance itself from what he describes as a costly coalition with the Liberal government that has existed since the beginning of the most recent Parliament.

The supply-and-confidence deal was vacated by the NDP on Wednesday when Leader Jagmeet Singh said the Liberals have let Canadians down and caved to corporate greed.

Leslie explains it was an agreement to essentially commit to voting in favour of all major Liberal spending and keeping them in power.

It was another strong season at the Lake Minnewasta campground

It was another strong season at the Lake Minnewasta campground.

"We've done well for both booked campsites (and) yurts," said Brian Thiessen, campground manager. "Our yurts had their first full season, which was phenomenal. They were well-booked throughout the entire summer which was something we hoped for right from the beginning when we put them in. This year, nearly from opening weekend right straight through, there were very few un-booked dates which is fabulous."

A Saskatoon high school student remembers the pungent smell of burned hair going up her nose, and something like the strong scent from a Sharpie marker, moments after she watched a schoolmate being set on fire.

She had just stepped out of her Grade 9 social studies class for lunch on Thursday, she says, when she saw two other girls in a hallway. A girl in a crop top poured liquid from a black canister onto the head of the girl standing next to her.

Canadian resident arrested in Quebec over alleged New York terror plot

When a father and son were arrested this summer in Ontario over an alleged terrorist plot, U.S. authorities say the news spooked a 20-year-old Pakistani national and Canadian resident named Muhammad Shahzeb Khan.

They say Khan used encrypted messaging to warn that because of the arrests "here in Toronto," there was a need to "lay low" on his own alleged plans: killing as many Jewish people as possible in New York around the Oct. 7 anniversary of Hamas' attack on Israel.
